The past month has seen a massive escalation of aerial attacks in Syria. The loss of life is unbearable.
Another chemical attack has devastated the town of Douma. As families hid from barrel bombs in the basement of their homes, chemical weapons were dropped to kill them. 42 people have died, many of whom are children. Hundreds of people have been hospitalised.
This month of massacres has taken the lives of more than 1,400 innocent civilians. 130,000 people have left Ghouta after surviving a month’s brutal assault and five years of siege. They have experienced hell on earth. Relentless barrel bomb attacks, napalm, attacks on schools and hospitals and the basements they were hiding in.
We have entered a new stage of this humanitarian emergency. Of the hundreds of thousands fleeing Ghouta, many haven't eaten for days. Children are malnourished, and at risk of dying even after their escape from Ghouta.
This is an emergency appeal to help people in the aftermath of this horrific bombing campaign. To send funds to our partners providing food and sustenance to the displaced. We are helping them buy baby milk and treat the sick and injured.
Please donate what you can to pay for shelter for those who no longer have homes, meals for those who no longer have access to food, and funds to repair the hospitals and centre's that have taken the most damage.
