We are getting back on our bikes this year to continue fundraising for Help Refugees.
Thighs of Steel is a London to Athens group relay cycle-odyssey that we have supported with our legs, hearts and wallets since 2016. We have helped raise £239,000 so far for Help Refugees to set up and run Khora. Khora is a community project in Athens providing refugees with services including food, information, legal advice, dentistry, language lessons and a sense of community.
We are riding from Perpignan to Lyon (680 km with 12,500 metres of climbing) over 6 days, wild camping along the way. While this is exactly our idea of a good time, it is probably the most physically demanding thing any of us has ever done and we will pay all of our own costs ourselves. This means every penny you donate goes to Help Refugees.
War, violence, climate change and persecution all mean that people still need to leave their homes and migrate. Many people carry many traumas with them. While the world spins on and the news papers find new stories, there are so many people in desperate need of ongoing support. We are really proud to support these amazing projects and we really really hope you could spare a few pennies or a few pounds.
Thank you so much,
Phil, Alex, Meg, Thom and Rosh
