About this campaign

A 6-day cycle ride from Paris to Bordeaux sounded like a great challenge especially with a group of people dedicated to raising money & awareness for Help Refugees. Basically I'm joining the ride because I believe in the cause and want to raise awareness of the precarious situation of many refugees in Europe. Helping the current influx of refugees into Europe is something I feel very strongly about, especially living in a city like Paris where you see homeless refugees on the streets every day. Governments are not doing enough to meet the basic needs of refugees such as providing clothing, food and shelter so NGOs like Help Refugees are indispensable to provide these essentials and they need your help. With Thighs of Steel we are going to be cycling around 670km, a challenge unlike anything I've ever undertaken, &, while I'll be paying my own expenses during the trip, I'd be incredibly grateful if you were able to sponsor me to reach my goal of raising £500 for Help Refugees so they can continue their work. Help Refugees will be sure to distribute the money to those with the greatest need, they support a large number of grass-roots refugee projects and are the largest grass-roots distributor of aid in Europe. So please give whatever you can afford, whether it's £1 or £10, all donations count.
