WHY?
To raise money for Khora, a grass-roots organisation that supports the refugee community in Athens to meet their basic needs, and provide warm, welcoming respite.*

Iona DOES love cycling. But who do you think is going to have to put up with Hugo?

ALRIGHT, SO WHERE'S MY MONEY GOING?
Donations of any size are gratefully received and go straight to the charity, keeping the wheels turning, so to speak! The costs of the trip are covered by the foolhardy cyclists themselves.

*Three years ago, people fleeing violence viewed Greece as an entry point to Europe. Today, Greece has become a holding pen for 60-000 plus refugees and asylum-seekers. Khora provides a haven for many of those unable to work or legally travel deeper into Europe.

The building bustles with life and purpose: kids giggle in the kids’ space, parents or siblings take language or computer lessons, or chat over delicious meals cooked and served by volunteers. Others receive free dental treatment or legal advice, learn self-defence, or chill out in a yoga class or in the dedicated women’s space. Khora is entirely volunteer-run, with many volunteers coming from the refugee community.
